This product is amazing and I can guarantee but pray you never have to use it that this would definitely scare someone away.Its was so loud that it literally made my ears ring but Im OK with that. I tested out for my coworkers and I have at least three of them purchasing this item. Especially for the teens who like hanging out late. Got these as a gift for 3 of my friends, and for my SO and myself to carry. The multipack was perfect for this purpose! They are indeed VERY loud. I can see it coming in handy.I'm a little scared to attach mine to dangle, as it seems like the loop on the pin could cause it to get accidentally pulled out easily. It's not that it's easy to pull out - you need to pull it with a good yank. But it's just the loop that has me worried it could hook onto something and get pulled. So I have mine in an easily accessible pocket in my bag.

I am 70 years old and this item gives a piercing scream louder than I could scream myself. It's loud enough to alert my son who lives upstairs in my big house. I haven't had a need to use it, but just in case, I tested it and it was really loud. Now I keep one with me all the time. I also have one on my key chain.
